Student Life

Students participate in 6 academic classes and one enrichment class. Enrichment classes offered in the past include karate, Afro-Caribbean dance, cricket, basketball, art, percussion, drama, capoeira, choir, tap, hip-hop dance, and track.

Kings also has athletic teams including basketball, volleyball, and soccer. We meet as a whole school at our Community Meeting each Friday afternoon. Activities at Community Meeting include Academic Showdowns, multiplication fact competitions, pi competitions (students compete to see who can memorize the most digits of pi), staff spotlights, state-test pump-up relay races, chant competitions, talent showcases, and Minute To Win It competitions.  Each Community Meeting ends with the awarding of our Spirit Scepter to one outstanding student for the week. We close with one of our most popular cheers—Be Nice, Work Hard, Get Smart.
